The Watec WAT-3500 is built for machine vision, industrial inspection, low-light monitoring, and other applications where revealing image detail takes priority over color reproduction. Its compact 34 × 34 × 50 mm body is designed as a direct drop-in successor to Watec’s proven WAT-910 and WAT-902 series.
A 1/2.8-inch BSI CMOS sensor with 1945 × 1097 effective pixels provides progressive scanning, composite-video output, and more than 570 TV lines of horizontal resolution. Minimum illumination reaches 0.0001 lx at F1.4 with AGC High at 72 dB and the shutter off. Remote OSD control, adjustable image processing, DC auto-iris support, DC 12 V operation, and a back-focus-adjustable CS mount give integrators precise control over demanding low-light installations.

High-Sensitivity Monochrome Imaging
Minimum illumination is 0.0001 lx at F1.4 with AGC High at 72 dB and the shutter off. Automatic gain control provides Low, Mid, and High ranges up to 36 dB, 50 dB, and 72 dB respectively. Manual gain control is adjustable from 0 to 72 dB in 5 dB steps.
The signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 45 dB with AGC off at 0 dB and gamma at 1.0.
Exposure and Shutter Control
The WAT-3500 provides selectable fixed shutter speeds, electronic-iris operation, and frame-accumulation settings of ×2, ×3, ×4, ×5, ×6, ×7, ×8, ×9, ×10, ×12, and ×15.
The electronic-iris range is 1/30 to 1/10,000 second for EIA and 1/25 to 1/10,000 second for CCIR. The extended electronic-iris range is ×15 to 1/10,000 second.
Image Processing and Camera Controls
Image-processing functions include adjustable 2D and 3D noise reduction, wide dynamic range, digital wide dynamic range, backlight compensation, highlight-suppression backlight compensation, adjustable gamma, white-blemish correction, sharpness, and defog.
Digital zoom is adjustable from 1.01× to 6.00× with pan and tilt positioning. The camera also supports eight privacy masks, image freeze, negative-image display, and vertical, horizontal, or combined image flipping.
Composite-Video Integration
The WAT-3500 provides composite video through a BNC connector. Additional connections support DC 12 V power, the optional RC-01 remote controller, and DC auto-iris lenses. Camera functions are configured through the on-screen display.
Lens Mount and Compact Construction
The back-focus-adjustable CS mount supports compatible CS-mount lenses. C-mount and miniature lenses can be installed using the appropriate optional mount adapter.
