2500

: $1,034

Advanced low-light color imaging for trusted analog systems. The Watec WAT-2500 combines modern CMOS performance with familiar composite-video connectivity, giving surveillance, machine-vision, and medical-imaging systems a practical path to greater sensitivity and control. It is also designed as a direct drop-in replacement for the WAT-250D series and WAT-600CX.

Its 1/2.8-inch CMOS sensor provides 1945 × 1097 effective pixels, progressive scanning, and more than 570 TV lines of horizontal resolution in NTSC or PAL. Minimum illumination is 0.0065 lx at F1.2 with AGC High at 72 dB and the shutter off, extending to 0.0004 lx with ×15 frame accumulation. Adjustable imaging controls, remote OSD access, DC auto-iris support, DC 12 V operation, and a back-focus-adjustable CS mount provide the flexibility required for precise professional integration.

The Watec WAT-2500 is a high-sensitivity color analog camera built around a 1/2.8-inch CMOS image sensor with 1945 × 1097 effective pixels. It uses progressive scanning and provides a 1.0 Vp-p, 75-ohm unbalanced composite-video signal in NTSC or PAL format.

Horizontal resolution exceeds 570 TV lines at the center of the image. A back-focus-adjustable CS lens mount, DC auto-iris connection, remote OSD control, and a comprehensive selection of image settings support integration into configurable analog imaging systems.

High-Sensitivity Color Imaging

Minimum illumination is 0.0065 lx at F1.2 with AGC High at 72 dB and the shutter off. Sensitivity extends to 0.0004 lx at F1.2 with AGC High at 72 dB and ×15 frame accumulation.

Automatic gain control provides Low, Mid, and High ranges up to 36 dB, 50 dB, and 72 dB respectively. Manual gain control is adjustable from 0 to 72 dB in 5 dB steps. The signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 50 dB with AGC off at 0 dB and gamma at 1.0.

Exposure and Shutter Control

The WAT-2500 provides automatic electronic-iris operation, selectable fixed shutter speeds, and frame-accumulation settings from ×2 through ×15. The electronic-iris range is 1/30 to 1/10,000 second for NTSC and 1/25 to 1/10,000 second for PAL. The extended range with frame accumulation is ×15 to 1/10,000 second.

Image Processing and Camera Controls

White-balance selections include automatic tracking white balance, push white balance, and manual white balance. Noise-reduction controls include 2DNR, 3DNR, and combined 3D+2DNR operation with adjustable levels.

Additional controls include digital and conventional wide dynamic range, backlight compensation, highlight-suppression backlight compensation, adjustable gamma, white-blemish correction, sharpness, defog, negative image, freeze, and vertical, horizontal, or combined image flipping.

Digital zoom is adjustable from 1.01× to 6.00× with pan and tilt positioning. The camera also supports eight privacy masks.

Analog Video and System Integration

The WAT-2500 provides composite video through a BNC connector. Additional connections support DC 12 V power, the RC-01 remote controller, and DC auto-iris lenses. Camera functions are configured through the on-screen display using the remote controller.

Lens Mount and Compact Construction

The back-focus-adjustable CS mount supports compatible CS-mount lenses. The camera body measures approximately 34 × 34 × 50 mm, excluding connectors and projections, and weighs 79 grams. Two 1/4-20 UNC mounting points support camera installation.

The WAT-2500 operates from DC 12 V ±10% and consumes approximately 2.22 W or 185 mA. Its operating-temperature range is -10°C to +50°C, with operating and storage humidity below 95% RH without condensation.
